I need a type 2 transmission bellhousing. On the later model vans, some where around '72 and later, the bellhousing unbolts from the transmision....I NEED ONE!
If anyone has one, and is willing to ship it to me, I wil pay the freight and a reasonable price for the bellhousing. This is TOP SECRET chit guys.....I'd tell ya more...but I NEED the bellhousing first! And like any of my projects, it ain't gonna happen quick.......but I can't even start measuring until I've got the bellhousing.
My "junkyard" dawdin' days are kinda limitted, so if anyone knows where they can easily and cheaply lay their hands on one.....HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I can call my X Boss in Texas tonight, and ask him about that. I was not aware that any bug, bus, squareback, or fastback trans, had a removable bell housing... Maybe I just need better glasses. LOL

Sup Kliff? If you happen to run across a second bellhousing, I'm looking for one myself. I want to build a VW engine test run stand. The shop that did my engine has one. It's basically an engine stand with bell mounted to it. Fueltank, battery, starter etc. is all part of the setup he has. Real cool for starting up an engine. I'll do the same for you if I can find 'em.

'preciate it Red, and I'll keep my eyes open for you too. Denis found one, but those catz want $100.00+shipping........seems a tad steep to me, I thru haLF A DOZEN OF 'EM AWAY 6 YEARS AGO.....COULDN'T GIVE 'EM AWAY!
I was sorta looking for something in the 20-40.00 range+shipping.......maybe it's me, or maybe those days are long gone....but I'd have given that guy 100.00 for 2 of 'em....SHIPPED.
Anyway, If I find some in my price range I'll let ya know!

Kliff and red , I have one sitting among my other stuff,. Kliff, you want to come get it or ship it to you collect, the price is FREE, but if it don't work for ya, I'd like it back.
Red, if ya want one too email me and let me know, but you don't need one for and engine stand, a regular trans will work.

Mountainman. That would be great! I know a regular trans will work but these bell's make a right nice compact unit. If you would email me, we can discuss the situation. danwoodring@sbcglobal.net Thanks Triker Red.
